WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. -- A Dollar General employee arrested in Wrightsville last week for hitting a child with a belt has now been charged with two felonies, aggravated assault and cruelty to children. The charges were upgraded from simple battery because according to the police chief, store video shows the woman hitting the 8 year old at least 25 times.
OMG. I don't think words can accurately describe how I would teach that clerk a lesson for DARING to touch my child let alone beating him with a BELT!? WOW.
She was wrong, no two ways about it. I don't even think you should hit your own child with a belt. But.... Where was the supervision of this child while he was in the store? Had he been properly supervised by his mother the clerk would have never had the opportunity to touch him, let alone beat him.
I can't imagine doing that to a child that wasn't my own, nor could I imagine someone spanking my kid...but it sounds like if any kid needed it, he did.
The parents should have gotten a butt-chewing and kicked out of the store.
If the family was in the store and did not realize the commotion, is it possible they were up to no good (maybe using the kid as a distraction), or they are completely negligent for not even knowing where the kid was during the entire commotion.
He did not sem so traumatized...but certainly familiar with the right keywords to use for a few $$$ in a settlement.
It will be interesting to hear more info about this family.

Congrats! You're the first poo poo to bring politics into this.
It was sarcasm... at least I would assume so, considering the source. But I'm surprised it hadn't really been said yet!
And yes, I would KILL anyone who dared to touch my child! No matter how inattentive a parent is, or how ill-behaved a child is, there are better ways to handle the situation. I deal with bratty kids all the time at work, and laying my hands (or a belt) on them has never even crossed my mind. The nerve.
