Which makes this a bad law...
Men are treated equally under the law. So can we stop with the bs that this bill isn't fair to men

Here's the exact freaking language:
Nothing in this title shall be construed to prohibit male victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking from receiving benefits and services under this title."

Find any credible data that shows that men are as frequent victims of domestic violence as women are.

Emergency room data alone discredits that. Although the true state of affairs is impossible to know, there are estimates that about 50 % of emergency room visits for injury by women are because of domestic violence.

The fact that the law even has to say that implies there are no protections for men.

And the CDC found that 40% of DV victims were men. Not just DV but severe, physical DV.

That ~13% of men are DV victims. Women come in at 25%. Not exactly a huge statistical difference.

The CDC.. Argue that...

For men:

About 1 in 7 men has experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner at some point in their lifetime.

Men don't count. I get it. You want the full victim classification. The title of this bill should make you happy but it's not. What more do you want? Everything is done to help the women victims and it's still not enough. I guess helping out themselves is out of the question. Maybe your just mad you aren't getting some sort of compensation from the government to go along with it.

Hoff, B. H. (2012), National Study: More Men than Women Victims of Intimate Partner Physical Violence, Psychological Aggression. Over 40% of victims of severe physical violence are men.

SUMMARY: According to a 2010 national survey by the Centers for Disease Control and U.S. Department of Justice, in the last 12 months more men than women were victims of intimate partner physical violence and over 40% of severe physical violence was directed at men.

And men are LESS likely to admit to being abused than women so realistically those numbers are lower than what actually happens.

Can we have a Violence Against Men Act???

And please, who HASN'T seen a woman smack, hit or verbally abuse a man.

Behavior that turns ghastly and despicable and unacceptable if a man does it to a woman.

I don't think you are allowed to question what a woman feels. If she says it is so then it must be so.

Nevertheless if men and women were equal perpetrators of domestic violence you wouldn't have findings like the fact that women are 6 times more likely than male murder victims to have been killed by an intimate.

Data reported by the U.S. Department of Justice shows that from 1980 to 2010, 41.5 % of females were murdered by a husband, boyfriend, or ex, whereas only 7.1 % of males were murdered by an intimate.

Or you do question and you get beat and nobody cares, especially women.

All that shows is that women are less likely to murder...

Not less violent.

And you are trying to argue the facts...

If the DOJ stats in your study are true them the DOJ/CDC stats in my study are also correct.

Men are increasingly becoming the larger share of domestic violence victims...

And murder is already illegal.

Do you REALLY believe all this money and training will be spent on how to help male victims of domestic violence?

Haha... As it is, I'm all domestic violence calls either the man is arrested, they both are arrested or no one is arrested. The woman is rarely arrested unless it passes DV to some violent crime.

A man needs to leave where can he go? Name one major shelter operation for men.

Name one nationwide organization that openly courts men?

Name one law that protects men?
