I know people don't like a "I told ya so", but.....I told ya so.

I refer to Mr. Franklin from PA.

Move over txgolfer130..I want to sit on the same bench as you.
10+ years ago..those against it because it gave government free reign to do what they wanted were told they were paranoid, out of touch, would never happen, etc.

Well, it is happening and no one is going to stop it. You let your government usurp your privacy rights in the name of "safety" and didnt' think of the ramifications of a government hungry for more power.

The more they get the more they will want. The government is never happy with what it has because it isn't enough. It will only get worse with time.

Governments never give freedom, they only take it away.

As you can see on this very forum some people are OK with this, given their support for some of the BS nanny state laws.

Wish they were as stringent investigating AIG and wall street fraudsters as they are with John Q Public and Joe the Plumber.

Oh wait, corporations are exempt from the law.

911, the gift that keeps giving. It served someones agenda.Definitely not the American people who aren't in the 1%.

The Government formed and ratified, drew up and ratified a document specifically granting and outlining the powers of the government, the powers of the people, the rights of 'men', and the articles within which the Republic would be governed by and stand for.

I would say those were "giving" freedom(s).

And that's why it's such an important reason to NOT give away even temporarily the protections and "freedoms" granted to us by the Government's initial charter.

But I understand what you were trying to get at.

To our government, that phrase probably means little to nothing when it comes to questionable sums of money being transferred from one place to another.

I do recall the FBI arresting people I believe in NYC who were suspected of aiding or funneling money to different countries, the FBI claimed it was passing money to known countries with ties to terrorist organizations.

U.S. raids suspected money links - Baltimore Sun

Immediately after 9/11/01, the FBI was rounding up people who were suspected of having ties to terrorists, some, if not all were held without due process and weren't allowed access to representation.
Knowing that our government did this, but allowed the entire Bin Laden family and entourage to leave the United States was questionable, IMO.

My dad, a WWII vet, told me that when Pearl Harbor was attacked, people of Japanese decent were rounded up and put into camps, one of which he claimed was in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he served as a MP at the time.

This is true even with expiration dates. Renewed with not a word of debate on either side.
