Rove was in the business of winning elections and he was very good at it. Palin is exactly the type of simplistic Republican conservative that turn of centrist voters. With Republicans like Palin grabbing the headlines, winning those elections becomes much much harder.
Palin had many of her endorsements win during the 2010 mid term elections. President Clinton went on national TV right before the elections and warned democrat candidates and voters to "Do not underestimate this woman. She is resilient like me." He saw the political influence she had at political rallies for the candidates she was backing.

Looks like Palin is now residing in Karl's head, rent-free, at least part of the time. Sort of like a time-share.

Yes, possibly so.
Republicans and cons will all be in a circle, palin will be standing off on the side somewhere, and throw a nice big red bloody piece of meat into the ring, and they'll all jump in and be fighting over it.
Democrats are almost sure to win once again, thank you for the insight OAS.
