Peculiar,...I see no charges being filed, only a petition from CREW for an investigation.

You have the McConnell campaign tried and convicted before any charges have been filed.

I'll wait for the real proof before passing judgment. That's the reason we have courts,...to keep people like you from being both judge and jury.

If laws were broken let the judicial branch take care of it, whether it be the illegality of the recording or the illegality of McConnell's staff. It's a little difficult (for everyone but you) to pass judgment after only a couple of days or so.

I can't understand why Progress Kentucky waited so long to produce the recording. Apparently, they saw that McConnell told the truth about Judd and her ignorant comments and saw no positive upside until after she decided not to run. Just another smear campaign by left-wing nutjobs.

Using Judd's own words against her would have been her demise anyway, but the McConnell campaign didn't have to do anything after she withdrew from being a possible candidate. I see no foul against Judd.

First--my comments have always been prefaced by "IF." The recording states that legislative staff did the campaign research. The question is IF they did it on federal time, or personal time, and if they used any kind of federal resources.

Second, the FBI is already investigating the conditions around the recording, and part of that process will be to expand the investigation to see if there was any wrong doing on the part of McConnell's staff, because that's the allegation--that's why these people said they started recording, and that they are witnesses to a crime. CREW can file anything they want and it doesn't mean zip. Law enforcement determines what they investigate and what they don't, and they're already doing it. No one on either side has been charged, because the investigation isn't complete, so they don't know what charges are appropriate. Do you understand how criminal prosecution works at all?

I don't know how this will turn out, and I'm not claiming to know. I'm just saying that it's going to be interesting.
