ACLU Seeks to Ban Bible Distribution in Kentucky Schools

"The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky sent a letter Thursday to 174 public school superintendents citing the possibility of a lawsuit in the 2013-2014 academic school year if they continue to allow The Gideons International to distribute Bibles, the New Testament and religious literature to students on public school campuses."

The ACLU claims that "this practice violates both federal and state constitutional guarantees barring governmental endorsement of religion, and it also impermissibly encroaches upon parents' prerogative to direct the religious upbringing of their children. By allowing an outside group to distribute sectarian materials directly to public elementary school students during school hours, school officials create the impression that the school endorses those religious views which subjects the students to 'subtle coercive pressure' to accept the proffered religious materials.'"
The left MUST attack Christianity. It is a part of their marching orders in an effort to destabilize the west. Their targets?

the church
the family
the middle class

Examine all leftist policy and one will see, in one way or another, an attack on one of the above three.

The rest of the above post is fantasy.

This is why they cannot allow Christian materials anywhere near a public school, because it undermines their effort to poison the minds of children with Progressive ideology! Heaven forbid that they should be exposed to truth, and values! Morality is a dirty word among liberals, and absolute truth is non-existent.

My advice to any parent that cares about their children's education would be to get them out of the public schools as fast as they can!

It is not hard to home school. We found that our kids became very self motivated, and they really "took flight." They are far smarter than the average public school kids (my kids are now adults, and I have 3 grand children).
Lol! What a funny post! You mean to say your kids are so smart, they figured out how to procreate?
As far as your "absolute truth".....whose truth? Your truth? Whose morality? Your morality? Try again.

De-Federalize education and let parents decide what is best for their children's education. Both spiritual and secular.

The Socialists however are getting bolder every year under Obama now openly pushing their agenda to completely subvert parents rights and make children de-facto wards of the State.

A German leader also promoted these policies.
We all know how well Theocracies worked out in the past. I am a parent and I don't want my children being proselytized while they are trying to learn math, science, geography, etc......

The people who are fighting an imaginary socialism by forcing their religion on citizens.

Aren't they cute, flailing their little fists and hollering about Nazis?

Just significant irony. I have nothing against Christianity. There's plenty of Christians on both side.

Let's see...
just exactly what DOES the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution say?
Oh, yeah, here it is: "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;..."

Please tell me what law Congress passed regarding religion, that forced the Supreme Court to rule on the Constitutionality of it?
AGAIN: CONGRESS SHALL PASS NO LAW...
Congress never has!

As for "forcing their religion on citizens", you are absolutely right, I don't like that either! It doesn't matter to me if it is a Mormon, an evangelical Baptist, a Catholic, a Jehovah's Witness, or an ATHEIST!
Personally, I find the missionary ATHEIST preaching the gospel of their POPE, MMO'H, to be very possibly the most in-your-face annoying people on the planet!
