I don't agree. This is not nearly as offensive as the bigoted Conservative ideology and its history of racism and discrimination against black people. Nothing is more offensive and disgustingly ignorant than the sentiments and mindset that cursed us with Slavery, perpetuated Jim Crow, supported the Klan, and hides behind the Conservative ideology.
This Salon article doesn't even come close.
Sorry....this article is branded with hate, pure and simple. Hate is the mantra of the left. Why else would they practice divisive techniques on a daily basis? Diversity, affirmative action, religious discrimination are all tools of their hate.
This article was one of the most reviling, stomach turning pieces of liberal hate fodder I have ever read. It is written with ignorance, a myopic sense of guilt and a pathetic form of victimhood. All earmarks of the liberal.
They could very well be Muslim, but you need to look at what faith their parents are and not make assumptions. Neither kid was born in Chechnya--what I just heard is that the Dad worked there and the family came to the US for political asylum. I'm no expert on Chechnya--someone else here probably knows a whole lot more about it than me--but my understanding is that the Russians were in charge of the country, and the Chechnyan rebels were committing terrorist attacks there. If the dad immigrated here for political asylum, I highly doubt he was one of the Islamic Chechnyan rebels. One of the boys was born in Russia.
They also did not move from Chechnya, but Kazakhstan, from latest reports. They left the Chechen regions when their were babies/young children (being both were born outside the area).
If anything, it sounds like their family fled the fighting that has been going on their between Russians and Muslims for the past few decades. Or were there temporarily for whatever reason.
Ok so only radicals are Muslim? I will say NBC reported one of the guys lamented not having any American friends so you are right Muslim terrorism may not be the main motivation.

Centuries ago, Chechnya was really a separate state from Russia.
That reminds me, I came to America as an 8 year old from Russia. Does this mean I should be a suspect?
That's just it. Some of the people here are stark raving nuts. My kids go to school with kids born all over the world, and they're as American as we are. One of my boys has a girl in his class from Russia, and the only difference is that her mom totally did not understand when she wanted to be a cheerleader. You'd never know the kids weren't born here.
The whole purpose of this thread was to link the President to Islam...in wake of the terrible bombings in Boston. It is a weak ass-link to make[the President and his supposed support for Islam]...But weak-ass links are the bread-n-butter of some on this Forum.
It's not rocket science. OP was waiting "fully loaded" for the outcome of the bombing search...waiting for his momment to spring...
I could care crap if anyone thinks the President is a Muslim...The President is a big-boy he can kick ass on his own. What freaks me out is the Idiots that try mo make a link...and I dont even really care about that.
I don't stress about idiots...I just like watch them use their limited capablities in explaining themselves...
While I applaud your overall sentiment, but I think it's off-target in at least one way: Idiots such as those you refer to still affect the way our society works. They are led to unskillful choices, bigotry, selfishness, and other anti-social behaviors by those who benefit most from such offensiveness.
