Adding on to the home grown idea, has anyone asked why the Boston Marathon? Why that specific event if this was some plot cooked up overseas? Sure the Boston area is one of the most well known events, but Boston is a small city so smaller numbers of potential victims. Why not the NYC or Chicago Marathons? Why not during some 4th of July event like what Boston holds at the Hatch Shell? A post Superbowl parade? Why not during today's Sox game? Why did the bombs go off at that time, vs. earlier in the day when runners were first crossing the finish line? Why that specific spot-why not take out the library or other institutions as well?
There are lots of smart students in Boston, wouldn't surprise me if one cooked up this scheme. Looks like an amateur job based on how many bombs were found vs. how many went off and the death toll is blessedly low.
Mike Heiliger, 59, said a woman holding several bags was telling runners who were picking up their pre-race packages in downtown Boston on Saturday (April 13) that they were going to die if they participated in the event.
“I was downtown on Saturday and you know, you see these people on the street and think it's just some nutbar,” he told The Chief from his Boston hotel on Monday. “It was a little creepy because you can identify who the runners are and I heard her say to this runner two feet away from me that, 'If you run tomorrow you're going to die.'”
At the time, Heiliger said he thought about telling the woman that the race was Monday, but decided not to correct her. Heiliger was in the process of calling the police after his conversation with The Chief.
“I thought it was just a nut and maybe she was a nut but she was holding a couple of bags like she just got off a plane and was accosting runners on Saturday,” he said.
Then I'm glad you're not the president. You appear to have something missing when it comes to saying the right words to a nation during times like this.
Oh, my! If that's a requirement, we should be scared. Very scared. Corpse, anyone?
That's the best message he can send to the evil beings who did this.
