prescriptions are not a right, arms are. where does it say you can make laws against the peoples right to bear arms?

On the contrary it has long been established that people have a right to make their own medical decisions. Deciding whether or not to take medicine is a right and like all rights it is subject to reasonable restrictions.

Portugal did not legalize drugs. They decriminalized them so they could treat drug addiction as the public health issue it is. They still don't allow you to buy, sell or possess drugs legally it is just that you are sentenced to therapy not jail.

You don't think deciding what prescriptions to use is a medical decision?

yes and no, the prescription is coming from a business. the feds make sure the drug is good and makes sure it goes to the right person. get a script from a doctor and get your drug. doesnt bother me.

So you don't think guns come from business? If not where do they come from? Furthermore you don't think the Feds have rules to make sure firearms are not defective? and also rules that attempt to insure they cannot get into the hands of the wrong people (convicted felons and sanctioned batterers)? As such I cannot see why a background check for firearms would bother you if you are not bothered by getting a script for a drug. BTW they keep serious tabs on scripts so folks cannot double dip.
