He IS an American citizen and has the same rights as ALL American citizens.
If he were NOT a citizen, I couldn't care less what they do with him.
The constitution giveth and the constitution taketh away.
I agree, but no where in the US Constitution will you find that a US citizen must be read their Miranda rights. That was a decision made by the Supreme Court in Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966). Every US citizen should already know that they have the right to remain silent under the Fifth Amendment, and the right to an attorney under the Sixth Amendment. If US citizens voluntarily choose to waive those constitutionally protected rights they may suffer grave consequences, hence the reason the court mandated the warning.
Stop and look at what you are now debating...whether or not he deserves to be served information about his rights.
The way to really change thinking is to SLOWLY chip away. A bit here, a bit there, nothing too big to upset the populace. Over time they acquiesce and accept and then it becomes the norm.
This should not even be debated..eminent threat to the public or not.
Again..fear and emotion cloud up LOGIC and REASONING.
I believe that they might have probable cause to want to interrogate him about other people involved. Not to use that info against him but any accomplice. Just my opinion, I am not a lawyer

Nothing has been chipped away.
That's been how miranda rights have worked from the start.
That's logic and reasoning.
Fear and emotion is suggesting he's having his constitutional rights being taken away from him.

But the court hasnt mandated the warning under all instances, just when they are going to use what they say in court.
