Why is everyone saying christians wont be involved anymore? Its going to be more than that. Would a non christian with any common sense send their little girl to girl scouts if a straight man was the leader?

Oh for pity's sake, not all men are sexual predators, be they straight or gay.

If the scouts become a less overt christian organization the systemic child rape will decrease as well.

Men are ALREADY allowed to be girl scout leaders.

I love you, Canucks!
Actually, I was not being sarcastic. I noticed a Canadian in another thread about education. They seem to have their head on straight. I'm just surprised they chime in on our issues so much.

I, as an American, never consider chiming in on Canadian issues. So I was just curious why they do.

I suspect it is because, despite the assorted international forums, it is still basically an "American" message board.

Just a guess on my part.

Who would want to be. I don't know any men who do/would. Too much can happen, and you are putting yourself at a risk you don't need to take. What do straight manly men know about being a GS leader anyway? Gonna teach them how to cook and sew? Get real...

Hang on Janet, let me help you with that button!

Men can and do cook and sew. My dad was a straight Sgt. Maj. in the Marines, he cooked all the time, and did a better job than my mom did.

There are also rules in the boy and girl scouts that an adult is never allowed to be alone with any child except their own. Always 2 adults, and the kids use the buddy system.
