Going back to original post, if large groups of people leave the Scouts, so be it. If they form their own alternative, so be it. If they thrive, so be it. If they flounder, so be it.

for those of us involved in scouting and see the benefits to our kids...
well... we care. so for us its not "so be it".
I don't like the notion of my kids being impacted by activists and social experiments.
personally for me the issue isn't about gay people at all. Its about activists and their agenda. that might not sit well but there you go.

And that is my point. You have every right to go elsewhere. You have every right to form an alternative organization that fits YOUR agenda. I think -- despite the fact that scouting encourages children to wear quasi military uniforms -- that the Scouting organization is a democracy. Or isn't it?
