Comes as no surprise, the top airport in America is #30 of 100.

Any survey that put's London Heathrow in tenth place has no credibility. It's a total nightmare if you have to change terminals.

Heathrow? Compare it to JFK and Heathrow comes out like a rose.

I'm flying Emirates to India in a month through Dubai. Now THAT'S service!

The last airports I have flown in and out of are Tampa, Atalanta, Houston, Charlotte, Dallas, and Austin.

Austin was by far the best of them. Houston was a freak'n nightmare!

The highest-ranked airport on this list that I've been in is Frankfort, #11. I didn't see much difference between it and the lowest-ranked one I've been to, Pittsburgh, #97.

Pittsburgh is looking a little dated as it hasn't had a major renovation since opening in the early 90's, but it's far and away better than a lot of airports in the US. The international arrival gates at JFK and Philadelphia are some of the most confusing, unkempt and just plain unwelcoming that I've experienced.

Also, unless the new international terminal is that nice, Atlanta doesn't belong anywhere on that list. I, mostly unsuccessfully, avoid ATL as much as possible.

Singapore is indeed a beautiful and organized airport. I did not care for Incheon one bit. Hong Kong (even though it was 10+ years ago) is still one of my favorites. Abu Dhabi while beautiful and comfortable in all areas, was not laid out well, but still should be in the top 10 IMO.

Horribly inaccurate article.

Quote:
The mood in Washington right now is one of austerity, so any near-term improvements to the country's airports will have to come from state or local authorities—or, ideally, from the private sector.
Airport infrastructure improvements are funded by the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), which is funded by the Airway And Airport Trust fund, which is funded by user fees and ticket taxes. Government austerity has nothing to do with airport infrastructure funding. In fact, the current sequestration specifically prohibits AIP program cuts.

Emirates is a good carrier. Dubai is a nice airport. I've been through there 5 or 6 times now.
