No rescue attempt was possible.

End of story.

Well it looks like the rats are jumping ship. Rice appears to be the one who is being set up to take the sword. Everybody will be happy and Obama will go on lying to the American people again and again and his swooners will defend it every time.

Democrats now critical of Rice's Benghazi explanation, amid more damaging evidence | Fox News

HappyTexan, you and I are saying essentially the same thing.

But one would assume from what some are posting that there were a contingent of Marines 10-20 minutes away that could have saved them. In fact, thats probably the only way that they could have been saved.

Tell that to the CIA guys awaiting orders to go assist that were told to stand down. Not possible my arse. Hell if that was the case then that is even more indefensible having an embassy set up in a war torn unstable region with no support anywhere around. Almost like it was a set up...........

You continue to pile ignorance upon ignorance with almost every sentence. We did not have an "embassy" in Benghazi. We did not even have a consulate there.

I spent 5 years on what we then called the RDJTF (Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force). Much of that time I was on standby for a two hour wheels up deployment. That means two hours between the moment of notification and C-130s leaving the Tarmac. Get a map and do the math.

No rescue was possible.

End of story.

Were there any there? Remember CIA staff are not military.

Benghazi wasn't an embassy like say in the larger capital cities. Rather it was a small office with a few people.

CIA operatives at the annex eventually disobeyed orders and went to assist at the embassy but it was on fire when they arrived. The annex was attacked about three hours after the embassy and still no help was on the way. A Libyan militia brigade had to eventually come to the annex to help. Obama was resting up for his trip to vegas.

Well the annex was attacked approx three hours after the embassy and still no support had arrived. The fight went on there for another couple hours and no support arrived. Thats a lot more than two hours unless you can't count.

Consulate, embassy call it what you want. You want to argue ridiculous name games. No shock because there is no defense for the actions taken.
