I think we should have had commandos, not diplomats, in Libya. The place is a mess. Now that Ghadaffi is gone, the disunity of the forces that toppled him comes to the surface. That's pretty common in the fall of dictatorships. Look what happened when Saddam Hussein went into hiding. Look what happened in Yugoslavia. "Diplomacy" makes no sense in such places. If Carter made an error, it was in not clearing the whole diplomatic staff out of Iran before the Islamists got power. We have to STOP assuming the replacements will be "more reasonable people". All our experience is the opposite.
It was a CIA covert operation to find Ghadaffi's weapons.
It took 2 cargo planes to evacuate all the people from the CIA base.
Look up Poland for example and you will see both the Embassy and it's Consulate.
Look up Libya and you only see the Embassy in Tripoli.
Benghazi was never a Consulate.

You are aware that this IS OBAMA'S fault and that of Hillary, both wicked cowards. I hope between this and Fast and Furious Obama goes down.
I hope for this he is impeached and then he is arrested and tried for the punk a$$ gunrunner he IS. Maybe do a little time in the Federal pen 30 to life maybe.
I am guessing that consulates are under the umbrella of embassies. Must we split hairs now to find a way to blame Obama?
Split hairs? Try "killing two birds with one stone". The horse and pony show GOP figures that they can implicate Obama in some fabricated conspiracy to continue their sabotaging of his Presidency, while at the same time attempting to bring Hillary down before the 2016 election. This circus show of theirs will be a big fat flop and I cannot wait to see what they come up with next.
