Yes the GOP, since it has the majority of the House, is responsible for appropriation of funding.

Quote:
In general, funds for federal government programs must be authorized by an "authorizing committee" through enactment of legislation. Then, through subsequent acts by Congress, budget authority is then appropriated by the Appropriations Committee of the House. In principle, committees with jurisdiction to authorize programs make policy decisions, while the Appropriations Committees decide on funding levels, limited to a program's authorized funding level, though the amount may be any amount less than the limit.

Your first link is nothing more than a right wing blogger site.

The second remark that "it was the size of the attack, not the money," is double talk.

We have established that there was no consulate in Benghazi. Did the GOP House approve funding for security in high risk countries at non embassy or consulate sites? Would a covert CIA house continue to be "covert" if there were military guards around it?

BTW, can the right-wingers here debate an issue using logic instead of resorting to childish personal attacks?

It's all they got. They know they haven't a single candidate that could beat her in 2016 so they have to attempt to swiftboat her now.
Pitiful.

YOUR party already said funding was not the issue.
At least read your own party's stand before crying that it wouldn't have happened if they got funding.

The consulate was actually not a consulate at all. Rather it was an building for covert CIA operations. I am sure there is a lot of classified information that will not be released publicly. However, the deeper the GOP digs, the more likely they will end up with egg on their own faces.

Quote:
The U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, actually served as a meeting place to coordinate aid for the rebel-led insurgencies in the Middle East, according to Middle Eastern security officials.

Among the tasks performed inside the building was collaborating with Arab countries on the recruitment of fighters – including jihadists – to target Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria.

The distinction may help explain why there was no major public security presence at what has been described as a “consulate.” Such a presence would draw attention to the shabby, nondescript building that was allegedly used for such sensitive purposes.

The Clintons are smart. They've been able to dodge every bullet thrown their way ever.
Hillary made a good move by leaving as she won't be tainted if this blows up.

It was Rice on those TV shows, not her and when she made her appearance as Sect'y of State she said all the right words.
The Clintons (and you can bet Bill is included) did not just fall in behind Obama.

Well I'm glad to see that you now understand that Benghazi was not an Embassy nor a Consulate.
We went back and forth on that yesterday and I provided the link of all US Embassies/Consulates and Benghazi was not there.

The committee was already briefed that there are some issues regarding Benghazi they are not allowed to ask about and they are obliging.
