The countries in the western hemisphere with the top standards of living are the USA, Canada, and Barbados which are English speaking so it's kind of weird that so many want to turn the USA into just another impoverished Spanish speaking nation.

The immigrants are fleeing the hispanic nations by the many millions -- and they're never immigrating to one of the many Spanish speaking nations, they all want to live here in the English speaking nation but then insist we become a Spanish speaking one.

If the USA is a so called English speaking Nation should it not make sure that all immigrants have a reasonable grasp of English before they are allowed in any school ?

Americans should learn other languages. Our people are way behind in this department compared to other modernized countries. As the world becomes more global, people will need to know other languages to stay competitive.
