Eric Cantor, House Majority Leader, knows his brand is in trouble: the House GOP is about as popular as Asian bird flu right now.

So, being a clever boy, he comes up with a clever scheme: pass a bill re-opening one part of the ACA, the Pre-Existing Condition plans for uninsurable sick people.

"Helping the sick people" is good spin, right? It makes the GOP look a little more warm and fuzzy, a little less like the Crazy Rapist Asshat Party.

And best of all, clever Eric is going to fund this scheme by taking $4 billion from another part of the ACA, a fund for prevention and public health which his GOP buddies hate and call a slush fund.

Sheer brilliance! Nothing can go wrong!

Except, turns out, the GOP really is the Crazy Rapist Asshat Party.

Oh well, back to the drawing board, clever Eric. Maybe a bill to adopt orphaned kittens?

You're complaining because somebody is trying to find a way to help this 'Obamaination' work?
He said it was a 'slush fund'.....might as well divert some of the funds from it since that 'uninsurable' portion sure as hell needs it.

I'm not complaining at all - I love watching the House leadership attempt and fail to lead their teavangelical hordes.

Save the Kittens!

Actually, progressives don't want to help them either...at least, not with their money.

After the House GOP gets done with it it will be a national mandate to buy handguns to shoot sick little kittens and put them out of their pain.

Republicans feel that sick people are to proudly stand up on their own two feet and pay for their own medical care.

Its not my misfortune. Why do I have to foot the bill?

Lots of health issues are caused by people themselves too. Smoking, diet, etc. Not my fault.

Probably with an additional provision banning the expenditure of any federal money on feline birth control.

Why do you have to foot the bill? If you work for Coke, Pepsi, Walmart, Phillip Morris, McDonalds, Archer Daniels-Midland or anyone of a thousand companies that dump all the crap on us , we eat, drink, smoke or expose ourselves during our lives, you are part of the problem. I'd love to see what your answer is when sometime in the not too distant future you are spending some quality time in the ICU wondering where did that cardiac infarction, stroke or near fatal bout with Kidney failure, or hyperglycemia came from. America made a Faustian bargain with the Agricultural-industrial-complex and Devil expects to collect. So get your check book out or lose your life.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to shop in these US of As if you are on a diabettic, renal failure diet?

Some of us sick people would give our souls to be able to stand on our two feet and actually walk again.
America goes through the motions of helping the chronically ill or disabled to have opportunities in the workplace but thats all it does.
