Congress exempts itself from liability for criminal acts (Congressmen, illegal, politician)

Under pressure from the public in 2011, Congress voted to make itself criminally culpable in the same illegal activities with which ordinary citizens are charged with regard to insider trading....quietly, under the radar screen, all of that changed. After making a public spectacle of righteous indignation and humbling themselves to submit to the same laws the peons of the populace must follow, Congress secretly reinstated the exemptions they had enjoyed prior to the time when the public shamed them into submitting to the same laws they pass for ordinary citizens....w perfectly legal for senators and congressmen to personally benefit from insider information in a number of arenas, including secretive information passed along to them indicating that a stock is getting ready to either crash or skyrocket.

People are foolish enough to keep voting them back in office.

I'm not sure how "secretly" it was done, it was in the news a couple weeks ago. Funny though that you don't see the president or congress announcing press conferences to hail this major new piece of legislation. Wonder why?

Don't like it? Vote the bums out that voted in favor of it. Unfortunately, most of the electorate is uninformed (or has short memories) and votes the same incumbant back into office what, 80% of the time?

It just proves that you get what you pay for. People need to use the internet to do their homework before they vote.
