I think that people who are receiving public assistance should be required to waive any rights to keep and bear arms and have to turn over any guns they own or have access to. This group is the one most responsible for gun violence. It is where we find most of the drunks, wife beaters, mentally ill and the criminals as well. If anyone who waived their rights in return for public assistance was found to have a gun in their home, car, or on their person, then the would forfeit benefits for life. I think this would be more effective than a jail term for them.

As much as I despise lazy entitlement bums, I see no reason why they can't be armed. That in and of itself is not a good reason to take away their right to defend themselves.

Are you serious? Do you really believe that MOST of those you listed are receiving government subsidies?

Do you not understand that there are more drunks, wife beaters, mentally ill and criminals in a majority of the Senate and Legislatures around the country than anywhere else.

Also, I suppose you believe that even though they "waive their right to bear arms" that they will never, ever go and get a weapon because they aren't "supposed" to. You need to take a serious look at the real world and understand that those who are targeted to "surrender" their weapons are NOT THE CRIMINALS most of the time.

Oh spare me the liberal crap. We all know who the bad guys are they are the same ones getting handouts from the government to spend on drugs. They might not surrender them but they would gradually lose them AND their benefits. A welfare bum will do almost anything to keep those checks coming in including giving up their rights (many of them don't have them in the first place because of felonies) and not carrying. This would work because it hits em where they live.
