FactCheck.org : Obama’s Numbers (Quarterly Update)

Quote:
  • The economy has added more jobs since Obama took office than it did in his predecessor’s entire eight years in office.
  • Despite the improved economy, the number of people receiving food-stamp assistance has continued to grow, and now more people have been added to the food-stamp rolls under Obama than under any single previous president.
  • Federal spending under Obama has grown faster than inflation, but far more slowly than it did under President Bush.
  • Federal debt held by the public has grown by 90 percent since Obama took office.
  • Obama has ordered seven times more drone strikes than Bush in the covert conflicts in Pakistan and Yemen, according to independent estimates.
  • Domestic oil production has soared; oil imports have dropped by one-third; new cars are getting 17 percent better mileage; and wind and solar power have increased 157 percent.

One overt war coming to an end and another ending very soon helps a lot to curb spending.

We're still at 7.5% unemployment and 15 trillion in the red. May want to put the breaks on this idea, just a bit.

P.S. It's much less impressive when noting that this current administration's jobs reports are fudged with public sector hiring.

Oh - I thought that this thread was going to be about both Clinton and Obama being embroiled in several scandals during their second terms and how in Clinton's case it led to him being impeached and tried by the Senate.

I am very pleased to see that the government has a fleet mandated fuel economy by 2015 and another one by 2025.

The Corvette in 2014 will be the first Corvette ever which will go from 8 cylinder mode to 4 cylinder mode on highway cruising speeds enabling it to get 30+ miles to the gallon in a 450HP V8.

V6's of today are getting the fuel economy that 4 cylinder cars were getting 10 years ago. This country IS moving in the right direction when it comes to becoming more energy efficient and energy independent.

I was thinking this thread was about Conservatives imploding in hysteria because a Democrat is on his second term of office. Read the Benghazi threads. Hysteria over a change in talking points and they are talking about impeachment. Yeah, it's starting to feel like 1998 all over again.

Really? Do you know how Obama could make a HUGE dent in the "foreign oil" dependency issue? Right now, today, one of the LARGEST owners of cars in the United States is the federal government. Obama, TOMORROW, could change ALL of those cars, which use OIL/GAS, into electric or hybrid cars. All with a stroke of a pen.

Yet, he does not and has not. Even though this ideas was proposed to him 4 years ago. Hundreds of thousands of gallons of gas and MILLIONS of barrels of oil would have been saved. Yet? Federal employee's are still driving around in gas guzzlers.

Why? How come? So much for hope and change...

If President Clinton had not lied under oath and if President Obama had not covered up Benghazi, then Clinton would not have been impeached and Obama would not have the possibility raised in connection with him.
