Well the guy was a RINO prior but now signing on to supporting AQ to take out Syria? I didn't see that one coming. I guess power has no bounds............

It appears Juan has become Obama's beeeeeeeech.......

"Sen. John McCain Monday became the highest-ranking U.S. official to enter Syria since the bloody civil war there began more than two years ago, The Daily Beast has learned.

McCain, one of the fiercest critics of the Obama administration’s Syria policy, made the unannounced visit across the Turkey-Syria border with Gen. Salem Idris, the leader of the Supreme Military Council of the Free Syrian Army. He stayed in the country for several hours before returning to Turkey. Both in Syria and Turkey, McCain and Idris met with assembled leaders of Free Syrian Army units that traveled from around the country to see the U.S. senator. Inside those meetings, rebel leaders called on the United States to step up its support to the Syrian armed opposition and provide them with heavy weapons, a no-fly zone, and airstrikes on the Syrian regime and the forces of Hezbollah, which is increasingly active in Syria."

You need to connect the dots.

Sectarian violence is escalating in Iraq. Iraq is edging back even further to where they were before the US invaded, oops, I mean when the US installed democracy. In March there were 800 incidents of violence in Iraq, and continued to escalate, along with the body count. In the past two weeks 300 people have died in Iraq. Iraq is slowly going in the direction of Syria.

Ominous ties are emerging between skyrocketing sectarian violence in Iraq and Syria's civil war. Analysts say al-Qaida-linked militants are flowing back and forth from both countries and are seeking to use religious differences to bring down the government, not only in Damascus, but also in Baghdad
Syria's civil war fuels violence in Iraq, 25 May 2013

All those American lives lost, all those disabled and wounded, the billions of dollars that the US "invested" in Iraq, for what? It's going to be the same thing in Afghanistan. They will end up back where they started, or worse, once the US pulls out.

Now the EU has lifted the ban for other countries to donate or sell arms to Syria. Does the EU and the US know exactly who the enemy is???? Who are going to be at the receiving end of these arms and what will the outcome be??

Sunni rebels are also crossing over into Lebanon and things are heating up there.

I was reading several articles a few days ago of how the Iraqi invasion and the USA meddling in affairs of no concern to us has actually destabilized the entire area, which isn't that surprising at all.

What makes Syria’s civil war so dangerous is that the players on the ground are no longer its driving forces. Rather, the war has become a struggle for regional dominance between Iran on one side and Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey on the other. As a result, the Middle East is at risk of becoming the Balkans of the twenty-first century – a decline into regional chaos that began with, and was largely the result of, the US-led invasion ten years ago.

The US meddling and "supporting" the overthrow of ME countries that were under the rule of dictators set this off, although the US will continue to tell the world that their participation had good results. In spite of it not having worked, the US will continue to meddle until the entire ME is a battle field.

What the US meddled in were countries that weren't fighting for democracy, but were experiencing religious conflict. With the exception of Afghanistan, we got involved in countries that wanted a government based on religious beliefs, not a democratic government, as we know it.

Afghanistan is 80% Sunni and will be more of a power struggle between camps, but application of Sharia law will still be an issue within the government.

In all fairness, he did serve in Vietnam, including a long period of time in a Vietcong prison camp where he was tortured regularly. While I don't approve of his politics, he is anything but a chicken hawk.

Too bad Obama is not as diabolical as some on the right insinuate and had McCain knocked off in Syria. Then he could have said " I did not know John was in Syria" since he went unannounced. Oh well, so much for wishful thinking

And he's been using his military record to justify his bad behavior and irrational actions every since.
