Like most liberals, Bob is perfectly fine with having the IRS target people for political beliefs. As he would oppose the IRS targeting liberals for thier beliefs, it reveals that Bob does not believe that the rule of law in the US applies equally to all citizens.
Gee, Bob- when one does not believe that the rule of law applies equally to all citizens, one has embraced fascism. Keep in mind that such beliefs cut both ways, and that tyranny, in the end, spares no one.
Ultimately what the IRS did is the same thing other dictators have done, used the government to try to punish and suppress its political opposition. This isn't much different than what happens in Venezuela, or Cuba. If they get away with this, what will be next?

This is the shocking, yet predictable, thing about the response of liberals to the IRS targeting conservatives- they are fine with it.
Now liberals, by showing in the open that they do not believe that the rule of law applies equally to all citizens, reveal quite clearly that they are fascists at heart.
As Americans, would not EVERYONE oppose the IRS targeting citizens for thier political beliefs? Would not those who support liberty and equal protection under the law be OUTRAGED!? Of course! Yet libs think it is perfectly fine.
