Im dumbfounded that she is claiming it on her own, and not as a Family LP, etc.
Hopefully, a financial planner gets hold of her before its too late. Or she just really likes the government and wants to donate it back for them to spend. Stupid, IMO, but hey, its her money to waste.
So what do you think, will her family go nuts over this money since it will be obviously passed on to someone soon?
What would you do? Give it to your family or charity in your will?
Remember, you're 84.
EDIT: This is also the "best" person to get the lottery, in the government's mind, as Estate Taxes will be recovering more of it soon too, unless it is all donated beforehand.
I'd have those in my estate that I plan to leave money to, claim part ownership of the ticket and thus they would collect part of it now, avoiding the estate taxes, and I'd collect some as well, thereby allowing me more than enough cash to do what I wanted.
She needs to donate it to the american mental health association....Then her relatives can have someone to help them with their anger issues, after they learn they dont get a cent...lol

I'm pretty sure "LP's, cant claim lottery winnings. I could be completely wrong though. I think it has to be claimed as an individual.

When a plan comes together. Good for her, hope she gets good legal advice.

"Groups" claim lottery tickets all the time. Plenty of people come forward and say they bought the tickets with joint funds from a family pool, 10% of the funds come from Granny, etc etc.
Shes probably going to do something monumentally stupid like donate tens of millions to a church
