They don't link to it, though. I know I should be more trusting of my fellow man, but when an opinion piece cites one county in an 8 year old study without providing the context, well... I do get the feeling that they may have chosen an outlier.

Well they don't do that study anymore.
Maybe the numbers were getting worse rather than better ?
Or maybe budget cuts is the more PC way to explain it.

Straw man. I have never heard of a Democrat ever making that argument. The burden of proving citizenship (acknowledged by every serious study of the issue) has never been argued differently for different "facets" of life in America.

Gong. The studies have shown there is no such method that equalizes the burden.

It's more fun to do so just months before a national election.

1) Actually no. They don't. Their parents might get one. But 18 years later whether or not they have the BC issued to their parents is pretty much out of their control.

2) Voter ID laws generally required a photo ID. A BC is not a photo ID.

GAO-05-478, Elections: Additional Data Could Help State and Local Elections Officials Maintain Accurate Voter Registration Lists

The GAO report (link above) showed that in one district about 3% of jurors claimed to be non-citizens. In many cases this was just an excuse to avoid jury duty, and in others the jury list was pulled from multiple sources -not just voter registration rolls.
