This also supports my argument that wine/alcohol should be introduced to older teenagers in a supervised setting (the family dinnner table) so they can become better educated on alcohol and it's effects in a safe environment (much like they do in some European countries) and maybe deter from the excitement of binge-drinking of cheap alcohol.

Older teenagers? My Dad used to make me Shandy's when I was a kid for a treat and we had wine with dinner sometimes. My Grandfather made us listen to the Queen's speech at Christmas and we toasted with half a glass of champagne when she finally shut up. We never snuck alcohol in our teens. We had access to it. It just wasn't anything to rebel with and who wants to vomit?

Me and my cousins did sneak absinthe into my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. But we weren't very sneaky. The older generation rolled their eyes at us.

No need to wait to introduce alcohol in the teens. I grew up watching responsible alcohol consumption.

We usually have wine at dinner, but I'm going to wait a few years before we pour glasses for the kids.... I want to avoid getting arrested for child endangerment. We'll figure it out.

Would you believe my husband went to strip bars for beers during lunch hour while attending Canadian high school? And he was an excellent student - that's just the way they did it.

My grandma lived to 101 and had wine at every dinner and a shot of Sambuca every evening. I am trying to incorporate this into my life... She was the healthiest person I've ever known.

There's no legal minimum age for kids with parental supervision in Canada. UK is 5 years old with parental supervision. I feel seven is old enough for a half a glass.

Yeah, my husband was in OAC (Grade 13) for 18/19 years old. He used to go to a bar at lunch time. There was a pub by my school nicknamed the Crown and Six Year Olds because they served all of us underage kids. Guinness is good for a growing child. It's made from barley.

My in laws don't think children should drink tea or coffee. A childhood without a cup of tea? Not even a little coffee? Crazy, crazy people.

I was told by a cousin, who was told by his parents, that coffee and tea are STIMULATES.

He said it as though it was gateway to pregnancy.

You'd think caffeine was crack the way my mother in law sees it.

Yes, the study hinges on the effect of erotic images which could be compared to alcoholic drinks. If "sexually conservative" men are also less likely to look at such images, then it is understandable if pictures of women in swimsuits effect them more than men who routinely watch porn. Seems like frequency of porn viewing is would be more relevant in predicting the mens' reactions than their plans to have casual sex in the next six months.

Avoidance causes attraction.

Familiarity breeds contempt.
