I am curious as to how those of you who have said it, justify your use of it.
Why does anyone need to justify it? This is a free country and as such, people can say what they want to. It is our choice not to agree with it. There are many words that I am offended with, including one in your username. I don't thing Hag is ever a good word or appropriate to call anyone. It is my right to voice that concern and your right to use it anyway.

Grew up in Queens, the most diverse place in the US. Had friends of all different enthnicities and nationalities and we always made fun of each other like this. Sort of how the yo momma jokes are done now.
Of course, I don't expect that my experience is typical for any other area or for any other time period.
