Same sex marriage is the law of the land now whether we like it or not, and I don't. It will take a different Supreme Court to reverse this decision just like it did with the Dred Scot decision. Might as well accept that we have lost this battle and get used to the new Gay America. More court action will just burn up money and ultimately lose after this SCOTUS debacle. It's over.
You are misunderstanding the entire issue. You don't actually have to have a gay marriage if you don't want to.
Get it? Its not required. And if you're already married, your marriage will not be re-defined in any way.
I would not call it a assumption that if you are in your 20's you support gay marriage. Its more of the numbers show that on average if you are in your 20's you are more likely to support gay marriage then people in their 50's. Then again some people in their 50's support gay marriage and some people in their 20's do not.
Obama said yesterday that he won't force churches to marry same sex couples. How gracious of him. Evidently he thinks he had the power to do so but is restraining himself at the moment. Who is to say the next President or stupid SCOTUS judges will be so restrained?
Do you have a link that Obama said something different than the following? Because the following statement is what some conservative sites are using to claim what you claimed. Clearing in the statement he is not claiming the power to force a change on religious institutions.
On an issue as sensitive as this, knowing that Americans hold a wide range of views based on deeply held beliefs, maintaining our nation’s commitment to religious freedom is also vital. How religious institutions define and consecrate marriage has always been up to those institutions. Nothing about this decision – which applies only to civil marriages – changes that.
Simply put, if you dont like gay marriage, dont marry a gay person.
That reminds of the saying. I'm not gay but my bf is . However in my case its the opposite. My BF insists that even though we are dating he is not gay.
okay the gays won. The fights over right? Now everyone can just shut up and go about their business and we never have to hear about it again. Thank you, peace and quiet at last!
Good luck with that. They'll find something else to march about now. Not enough gays in the officer ranks of the Army...you name it.
