Edward Snowden granted temporary asylum in Russia, leaves airport.
Quote:
Edward Snowden, the former U.S. intelligence contractor wanted for revealing the National Security Agency's secret program to collect American phone and internet records, left a Moscow airport Thursday after officials granted him temporary asylum, his lawyer said.
Kucherena said Snowden would be speaking to the media in the coming days, but he gave no further details.
Good for him. Let's hope he can slip out of Russia somehow and get to a country where he can live the rest of his life peacefully out of the reach of the US Government.

Indeed. Russia will have to do for now, but it should only be used as a stepping stone for him. Russia hasn't exactly been a stronghold for human rights in the past few years, so seeking permanent asylum there would just be insane.
Hopefully the traitor will never see true freedom again.
He will get a nice job there- marry a nice Russian girl...learn to speak the language- and forever be Putin's sharp stick that Putin will on occasion stick in the eye of America...no big deal - as the Italian mafia would say "Forget about it" I just hope that those seeking revenge in Washington because of the embarrassment will relax- What did Snowden actually tell anyone that they already did not know?
Maybe Russian Intelligence will give him a job being that Russia has such a transparent government and has such freedom of press with such human rights and privacy stances.
Hypocrite extraordinaire.
