Or better yet, shut up and just act, sing, juggle or whatever they do.

Hey, if I lived in LA or, closer to home, Newark, Camden or Patterson, my son would have been in a private school quicker than you can say "That's racist!"
I consider the actors who spout off about politics the same way I think of Anthony Weiner. I have no problem with him running for mayor. He has every right to run. I just don't think anybody should vote for him. Same with the actors. They have every right to use the soapbox they have to say what they want. Becoming a national celebrity in acting really is an amazing accomplishment considering how many thousands of failed actors there are for every one successful one. But the people he is talking to should realize he has no special insight outside of acting and not take what he says as being any more informed or important than what a stranger they bump into on the street says.

I couldn't care less where his munchkins go to school. The difference between Matt and intelligence is his inability to stop his gums from flapping about where everyone else's kids should get educated.

My parents were dirt poor, literally. Farmers. I, my brother, and my sister attended private school from Grade 9 on.

Wealth isn't the issue. Hypocrisy is.

Matt Damon isn't telling anyone where they should send their kids. He's saying we should support public education to make it better, that's not telling people that they should all send their kids to public school and not private. Totally missed his point

Matt is right, we need parents to continue sending their children to government schools, because without them we wont have enough sheep to feed the ruling/ political classes.

Another liberal hypocrite. At least liberals are consistent- they are ALWAYS hypocrites!

The liberal mantra- "Rules for thee, but not for me".

I see your point, but by promoting public education, isn't he more or less advertising for it, yet drinking a different brand?

It's not unlike the CEO of Pepsi being publicly addicted to Coca Cola.

We live in an excellent school system and a lot of parents here still insist on sending their kids to private school and paying a fortune for it.

I really don't get it; unless you live in an area that does NOT have a good school system.

A more credible way to make his point would for him to declare "The public schools suck and I refuse to subject my kids to them!!!".
