“Over the last six months, of the net job creation, 97 percent of that is part-time work,” said Keith Hall, a senior researcher at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center. “That is really remarkable.”

Hall is no ordinary academic. He ran the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the agency that puts out the monthly jobs report, from 2008 to 2012. Over the past six months, he said, the Household Survey shows 963,000 more people reporting that they were employed, and 936,000 of them reported they’re in part-time jobs.

“That is a really high number for a six-month period,” Hall said. “I’m not sure that has ever happened over six months before.”

Is that the "Hope and Change" Obama promised? Did Obama promise most would be Poor and Underemployed?

Well, they voted for hope and change. Now they are going to have to beg for change on the street corner. They better do something to supplement their Obama economy incomes.

Competition and technology have, over the past 40-50 years, eliminated tens of millions of jobs.

The trend towards a service based economy has been consistent over many decades. The largest employers, in terms of people employed, are retail and fast food. These have been low paying PT jobs all along.

The average number of hours worked has not substantially changed over the past decade.

Unemployment is a global issue.

Last I checked, Congress was not enamored with the Job's Bill.

Got bubble?

Read the report. Hall informatively speculates that the extraordinarily high percentage (97%) of new jobs being only part-time is directly attributable to the Obamacare legislation. That is... the "Hope and Change" that was promised. No more real jobs.

The current admin's policies have a LOT to do with creating, or NOT creating jobs. Also, Obamacare is the primary full-time job killer culprit. So says the man who ran the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the agency that puts out the monthly jobs report, from 2008 to 2012.

You are apparently extremely ignorant of the President's own repeated pronouncements: "My focus in the coming months will be jobs............".

Do you care to know how many times he has made such a claim? Keep reading forums, you may get to know more about your love interest and idol.

I prefer to read the BLS, the source document, instead of speculation.

Job growth was primarily attributed to retail trade, food service and drinking establishments.
