If he was truly suicidal, then why did he live for another 20 years, and became an elder statesman?
Once he was no longer in office, he recovered. After a period out of the spotlight, he publically re-emerged and developed a reputation as a foreign policy sage. He wrote best selling books and founded a highly respected think tank. The Reagan, Bush, and Clinton administrations constantly asked him for advice on foreign affairs. He was able to reinvent himself.
You don't know what you're talking about. Democrats had already voted against him in the presidential election (duh!), it was the republicans who pushed him out... Nixon made the party look like crap.
And it took only four years of Carter to send America scrambling back to that party.
Solyndra was a mistake looking back, but not a scandal. Fast and Furious isn't anything new in this country, and if we impeach based on that then no president will make it through their term. Benghazi and the IRS crap aren't scandals, they're talking points on Fox News.
Don't watch Fox News, but it certainly concerns me when one of the most powerful entities in our country are profiling and harrassing people based on their political views. That's far from a talking point. But it's also not something I would lay directly at Obama's feet either. And as far as Benghazi goes, things went wrong, and that's obvious. It's not a talking point, it's a giant cluster of unanswered questions. Until those answers are provided, it will continue to be talked about. It would be no differnet if we had a republican president. There would just be a different political affiliation behind the guys who just wouldn't stop asking the questions.
He knew he was in trouble and impeachment was the next step. What, you think he would just get a slap on the wrist. He knew better. Nixon was not a stupid man but he made a bad choice which cost him.
Was Fast & Furious out of respect for the office? Just wondering.
First off, I'm not a huge Obama supporter, but I can see the difference between Watergate and "gunwalking." Besides, didn't this "gunwalking" begin in 2006, prior to Obama taking office?

The date doesn't matter to me. What matters is why people aren't in jail for it.
