Actually, it does hold water. 400 years of slavery and Jim Crow left the black family particularly vulnerable to the nasty unplanned effects of the War on Poverty that, along with the sexual revolution, promoted the bastardization of America.
Our nations number one problem is the birthing of bastards. The more bastards the more poverty and crime, regardless of the race of the bastards.

Homicides rates for blacks tend to be higher in places where whites have dominated those societies through slavery or colonization. Look at Jamaica, South Africa, Brazil and the US and compare their homicide rates to places like Ghana or Burkina Faso, Cameroon and the like. I know because I have visited those African Nations.
Additionally, the out of wedlock birthrate in Nigeria - where so many of African origin in the West descend - is only around 6%. Compare that to the OOW stats among African descendants in the U.S. and other nations that went through slavery and/or colonization. It's interesting to say the least.
The color of your skin isn't the problem. Problems arise during times of recession. I don't think people are more violent and less moral than in the past.
What has changed is the prevalence of the media and their influence on pop culture. Media has always had influence, but you notice it now more than ever. We are being marketed to 24/7 and it influences our behavior.
Sorry, no. Being slaves in 1860 doesn't explain why this is going on in 2013. This is easily proven by the fact that the black family instability and crime rates have gone up since the civil rights movement rather than down. So that explanation simply doesn't hold water.

And also hopefully you're smart enough to understand that nothing happens today in a vacuum. Any excuse you care to make to pretend racism is dead and make blacks look bad still comes back to our shameful history of slavery in this country.
I am glad some here have admitted the problems among white culture with my example.
Then you have some others who deflect back to black issues when confronted with problems among there own(whites).
