I won't hold my breath.

It was apparently only a problem when a a republican was in office. Especially a Texan republican.

Expect the hypocrites in the entertainment industries to stay silent on this as well, since their hero is in office.

Talk about double standards...

Only if you can protest from your laptop or twitter.

There were protests during the Iraq war, who knew.

Depends what you men by "war". A boots on the ground invasion or drone strikes? The chances of a Bush type invasion of Syria are practically nil.

There would be if we still had the draft. I have come to believe that ending the draft has led us into and prolonged wars we should never have involved ourselves.

Our founders warned us about "foreign entanglements" no matter how righteous the cause. We are not the world's policeman. And when it is all over we are hated even more.

I actually don't think that you can compare the two events.

Obviously, the general sentiment in the population is quite different. Secondly, attacking Iraq was sold under the guise of the existence (and threat for Americans) of WMD's. Many Americans saw right through this lie. They did not appreciate blatantly being lied to. They did not appreciate the obvious deep-digging of the Bush administration to find ANY excuse to attack Iraq. And they clearly understood that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

To this day, many people despise Bush as the representative of an administration that undeniably tried to declare Americans fools.

Say what you will, but the Obama administration certainly learned that lesson and does a lot more diplomatic PR work - rather than the "you're either with us or you're against us" gung-ho approach back then.

So, no, I do not expect the same type of mass demonstrations. Not because the people love Obama or believe everything that is said to them, but because the general attitude is different and the lies that are being told are, seemingly, more subtle and less in-your-face.
