Do you support the gun control measures that NJ has passed? I did this poll in FL, but I thought it would be interesting to do one here.

Many of us in West Windsor, NJ own guns and we don't have a crime problem or a careless gun-handling problem. So guns aren't necessarily unsafe. And I believe that "guns being unsafe" is the premise of these measures without any proof to it being true.

We're not talking gun prohibition......we're talking some common sense gun control. There's absolutely no reason the average citizen needs a military assault style weapon.

There's no reason the average citizen _needs_ a Mercedes S-class either, but nobody in NJ would dare talk about banning those.

I have no idea how a post like this fits into a gun control thread....unless one of the Mercedes options is "mounted assault weapons" on the hood ?

Your previous post discussed the ability to own something based on need. The Mercedes example was analogous.

Assault weapons are pretty much impossible to own in NJ. Plus, you have have to go through the Feds to get one in a state that will allow them.
