That's total BS. Al Quida is moving to places where they will be received, accepted and can grow. That's places like Yemen and Somalia, where there are Muslim democracies that are in trouble. Since it's largely a Sunni organization, they naturally have trouble in countries like Iran, which are majority Shiia.

It's important to understand the deep chasm between the 2 different faiths within Islam. They are as great right now as the Catholic-Protestant split in the Church of Christ was 300-500 years ago. During those centuries, most of Europe fell to slaughtering each other within nations and nations went to war with other nations over the same religious differences.

The Age of Empire finally put a halt to the killings in Europe, but as we all saw in Bosnia in the 90's, under the right conditions, even those who should know better will still go to religious war at the drop of a hat.

He is right about this:

Quote:
"We should bleed America economically by provoking it to continue in its massive expenditure on its security, for the weak point of America is its economy, which has already begun to stagger due to the military and security expenditure," he said.
Money is the heart, soul, religion, and courage of America.

You are absolutely correct, I agree. Where better than the US who, through Obama, helped al Qaeda out tremendously by providing them with weapons, cash, and air-strikes in Libya? Al Qaeda knows that as long as Obama is in the White House and Democrats control the Senate they have a safe haven in the US.

...And in return, Libya got rid of a dictator and became democratic. You just don't like the kind of democracy that developed.
None of us can expect to see an American style democracy emerge in the middle east for many decades to come.

We have learned the hard way that a democracy doesn't need safety, something that we have all blindly believed since Woodrow Wilson decalred the world must be safe for democracy 100 years ago.

The truth is: any democracy either rises and flourishes on it's own or fails to take root and survive.
Wilson was wrong. We wasted millions of lives and vast fortunes on a failed notion, and we finally learned our lesson in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If i was Prez, Syria would get nothing. But I'm not, and the Prez has 100 years of policy to deal with that, up to now, hasn't been questioned since the 1960's. You should be grateful that he actually listens to the voters and is cautious. We could have had a real war monger or two in the White House right now, and neither of them would have given a tinker's damn about what we thought.

You mean the kind that gets US Ambassadors killed by those Obama was arming, financing, and assisting with air strikes without authorization of Congress? No, I cannot say the I like that kind of "democracy" much at all.

That is especially true when the President supports, finances, and arms the very people we have been at war with for the last 12 years.
