A Pennsylvania patriot was arrested for exercising his 1st & 2nd Amendment rights. Damned Obama!
A Scranton man has been arrested for sending this threat to the White House: "President Obama is the Anti-Christ. As a result of breaking the constitution you will stand down or be shot dead. This will be sent to militias throughout the country and the media. Nick Savino." A search of his residence found two licensed weapons, one of which was a loaded AR-15, 11,000 rounds of ammunition, a long-range scope and training manuals on long-range shooting.

Threatening to kill the president, while loading up on ammo and long range scopes is generally not advisable.
I don't want to kill the president, do you?
Many people have been hoarding ammo so that that they don't have to suffer through the shortages after every gun grab scare. The shortages from Sandy Hook still continue.
Also, prices come in to play. Ammo has gone up roughly $4 since Dec 12. And will probably just continue to go up.
If he reloads. 11,000rds doesn't take long to churn out. It also doesn't say what kind of ammo. It could be a mix. A brick of .22lr is around 500rds depending on brand.
And any scope can be considered a "long range scope". That is a very vague discription.
Making threats is just plain stupid though. Way to lose your rights.

Nor do I advocate anyone else killing the president either. Those that do should be investigated for sanity and motives. Threatening murder on anyone is an unconstitutional abuse of the 1st. amendment.
If 2nd amendment supporters feel this individual should be able to continue to keep his long range sniper rifle after his public statements then it shows exactly how messed up the 2nd amendment absolutists really are.
How can you tell the difference? If he's a nut job then so is everyone on the religious right.
Was that a rhetorical question? I couldn't have said it better myself.
Beyond the "religious right," we've known for a long time that people who are obsessed with one thing, in this case, guns, are imbalanced. The difference is that folks who are obsessed with Harry Potter or NASCAR, it's mostly harmless. When you have paranoid, mentally ill individuals like the gun fondler in this story, it's much more worrisome.

And buying ammo, and the scope was fine. But coupled with the death threat, was my point.

No, actually it's not fine.
