my mom was on that hedious welfare system of over 20 yrs. the more they get welfare, the more mentally enslaved they become. it is a form of slavery, they will not get out of the poverty plantation. they will stay poor. my mom begged my sisters not to get on welfare. she was smart enough to know that it forever screwed her life by making her lazy. she realizes it now. before it was just " free money", but now we see that free money cost her more that she ever imagined. the illegals will get this welfare money, it is just to keep them down, there is no hand to help pull them up. it is part of the system. America needs poor people to stay poor. same way for crime. we need criminals.
That sentences doesn't make sense. She was either smart or lazy and the outcome would suggest "lazy" trumped "smart".
I'd love to her the scenario you imagine would have played out had your mom not received assistance. There was nothing about getting a few extra bucks each month that would turn a smart, ambitious person into a lazy leach. That's sort of a personal deficiency.

Squeaked by in the Senate and is basically DOA in the house. That bill as passed in the Senate has a 0% chance of passing in the house. Thank god for that.
Smaller bills will be written and passed to address parts of the immigration issue. One can only wonder if they will address what is actually broken. I am doubtful.
