It did and it's not false.

Here is the post again:
FR CONTEST: "Pin the Middle Name on the Obama"

Here is the summary of who Free Republic is owned and operated by:
Free Republic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (hint: ran and supported by self described conservatives).

The post was made in March of 2008 (the first post questioning, even though half-heartedly, the birth place of Barack Obama).

Phil Berg jumped on the bandwagon, in August of 2008

Again, please tell us when March occurs in a year, in relation to August.

Then you half heartedly say it started with PUMA a Hillary support site!
Barackryphal is not a Hillary support site nor is it PUMA related. Its has and always will be an anti-birther website.

freeRepublic is not a hillary support site, nor was it a PUMA Site. It has always been a conservative website, and since 2008, a whackadoodle, right wing nut job site.

I was pointing out where it started and began to get traction (In the courts) with Berg!
again this is false. Berg wasn't the first to make birther claims. It was the users of FreeRepublic who did.

and their "claims" were co-opted to a blog site on March 4, 2008 which linked to FreedomsEnemies.com - which then became TheObamafile.com - a whackaloon, right wing nut job, anti-Obama, birther, SMEAR site.

you must be getting sore?
Not me. You are definitely getting sore, seeing as you have been proven wrong, and you resulted in ad hom attacks instead of actually READING the links (since you are allergic to facts) that proved the DailyBeast wrong.

DailyBeat is wrong that it started with Democrats. It didn't. It started with right wing nut jobs on a sewer of a site, called FreeRepublic.

yes, berg was the first to file a birther lawsuit ( now numbering over 200 ) in august 2008 but the rumor had already gained "traction" before that. here an LA times article from june 16, 2008 mentions "the rumors about Barack Obama's birthplace, that he was really born in his father's native Kenya..."

Barack Obama's birth certificate revealed here - latimes.com

berg's lawsuit claimed that obama had indonesian citizenship, it had nothing to do with the "kenyan born" or "2 US citizen parent" birther beliefs.

actually this is one of the few places that birthers have a (hypothetical) leg to stand on. a US residency requirement was needed for automatic conferring of US citizenship. here's the law:

" For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen, is required for physical presence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child."

obama's mother was 3months shy of her 19th birthday, cruz's mother met the requirement.

that being said....... obama was born in the US so it's a moot point ( jus soli ).

Are you telling them to just shut up and do as you say?

here:
Birther row began with Hillary Clinton - Telegraph

It was not until April 2008, at the height of the intensely bitter Democratic presidential primary process, that the touch paper was properly lit.

An anonymous email circulated by supporters of Mrs Clinton, Mr Obama’s main rival for the party’s nomination, thrust a new allegation into the national spotlight — that he had not been born in Hawaii.

No the topic was birtherism, and that was what he posted about. How is it a strawman? Strawman is where you put words into the oppositions mouth, and then proceed to discredit said words. Off-topic and strawman are entirely different.

Read his link--it is by a liberal writer who documented that birtherism started among Hillary supporters during the 2008 primaries. Few if any serious R's ever fell for birtherism. McCain certainly didn't. Trump is not a serious R; he's a publicity hound and television gadfly. He donated $50,000 to Rahm for mayor, and a few months later said that Obama was the worst prez in history. If you think that, wtf are you doing helping to put his ex-chief of staff in charge of the 3rd largest city in the US?

I gave up on the OP when he linked to a FreeRepublic post dealing with Obama's middle name!
(Remember the 'outrage' over using Hussein .. Bummer's middle name?)

Nothing to do with the Birther movement!

Leftist Dems are amature liars but can be exposed If you want to waste your time!

Obama could be exposed If we didn't have a left wing media!

For all the practice that he has .. Obama is a pathetic/amature liar which is easy to discredit but then .. You'd be a racist!

Who cares who started it? It clearly gained traction among tea baggers who couldn't accept a black democrat who became president.

Rather than bringing up ridiculous "who started it" threads... I'd rather ask why the color of Obama's skin is an excuse for excusing him. Isn't that racism in and of itself?

If a person won't call out Obama on his failure to perform, for fear of being called a racist, doesn't that make them... a racist?
