Even in the face one of the weakest storm season in history, they're still locked on Sandy. G.W. Bush, Sandy Hook, and storm Sandy... the trifecta of progressive talking points.

Experts: Climate change leaves Rhode Island, region vulnerable to severe storms | Breaking News | providencejournal.com | The Providence Journal - The Providence Journal

The last sentence says it all; “Pay money now so we don’t have to pay more later,” he said.

The next time you see Al Gore on TV telling us how evil fossil fuels are, remember this: that fat gold Rolex on his chubby little wrist was paid for by oil.

We should be hearing the cries from certain folks saying, "Why do they let them build there?"
This was heard a lot after Katrina.

Narragansett Bay is a major, important sea port. I think that it is vulnerable. Since when is emergency planning a bad idea?

We ignored the predictions for New Orleans, and many thousands of people suffered. That was gross negligence. Saying something like "who cares, it is blue state" is unAmerican. We should invest in better stormproofing our major cities and ports as Katrina and Sandy so clearly demonstrated. We should also get infrastructure out of floodplains, as the floods in North Dakota, Vermont, and Colorado have demonstrated. It is what intelligent societies do.

Most of the posters here, even RWNJs agree that warming has occurred, even if they don't agree humans are responsible. With coastlines, it does not matter, rising sea levels will increase the likelihood of major losses of life and property along improperly safeguarded areas.

Yes, it is. But it will be more so over time. And as the recent Colorado floods demonstrated, just because a huge event has not occurred in recent history, there is no saying something big could not happen at any time.

Sounds like the people in those areas should take precautions. The rest of us should not be on the hook.

Thousands suffered when they saw it actually coming and didn't evacuate knowing the circumstances and the scope with certainty.

And floods and natural disastrous happened before man walked the earth.

Natural disasters happen, they do not mean anything, stop reading into them.
