Oh good lord--any new program, ANYWHERE has to be tweaked somewhat as you go into implementation. Nobody rolls out any plan perfectly--there are always adjustments made along the way--and anyone who says that's not true has never been in charge of SQUAT professionally. The article states very clearly that this would be an easy fix if Congress decides to do their job. If the changes don't get made, then blame the republicans in Congress, because they're the ones standing in the way of doing what needs to be done to make this work, vs. wasting their time voting to defund it. That's NOT going to happen.

Default The Medicaid/Subsidy Gap

Another issue:

Quote:
Medicaid expansion gap could leave poor shortchanged

WASHINGTON — The decision of some states not to expand Medicaid means that the nation's poorest — those the Affordable Care Act would have helped the most — may not receive any help at all.
That's because the 2010 law was written to provide Medicaid coverage for those making less than 100% of the federal poverty level, $23,550 for a family of four, in all 50 states. Because those Americans were to get Medicaid coverage, they were not made eligible for the federal tax subsidies that would help them pay for health insurance they will be required to buy.

ACA isn't perfect - I doubt even the most ardent fan would argue. But it can be made better. And no, throwing it all out isn't making it better. That's just the easy, cowardly way to "govern."
ACA was created off the cuff without thought or consideration. It was jammed through congress on threats and bribes that would have put normal citizens in prison. Do not ask or imply that we are not leading by trying to fix something that should never have been passed.

ACA is the Liberal Moonbat train wreck. You created it you fix it.. If it was up to me, they would throw the entire law out.. (Which Obama throws pieces out when it suites him) and everyone of the slimy bastards that voted for it..

When liberals start taking responsibility for themselves and not depending on others to make themselves feel relevant and give them purpose you will see change. Until then, they will continue to destroy the very fabric of this country.

These aren't tweaks.

Every 'plus' this bill proposes for consumers could have been handled via regulations, legislation and negotiation.

Yet, it was passed without reading it and understanding the wording, it's effects on business and the economy, the management nightmare of it all. One of the biggest issues is one has to turn over so very much in personal information to the government the average citizen is overwhelmed at the paperwork alone. So many wanted the government 'out of my womb' yet now they're in there so deep now, they'll never leave.

If 'it's a Republican's plan anyway' had any ounce of truth in it, Republicans would be behind it 100%.

The people didn't want this when it was passed and they don't want it now.

Stand!

They would be, if a Republican was in the Oval Office.

OF COURSE it's a tweak! They just have to change the language to factor in whether or not family coverage is included by the employer before an employee meets the criteria to go to the exchange (and receive a tax credit to help pay for coverage) instead of continuing with workplace coverage. That's not a major component of the bill, and it's matter of simple changes in the language dealing with eligibility.

You have 500K children that will fall through the cracks in this article.
You have potentially 7 million in the medicaid/subsidy gap.
You have how many people that are getting their hours cut or won't be hired at all?
You have a mandate which is the linchpin of the law which is unenforceable and open to enormous abuse.
You have medicare cuts the actuary has called and I quote "unrealistic" that will likely wipe out the deficit savings.
You have charitable hospitals that could find themselves losing donors.
You even have the unions asking for changes.....

On and on and on.... That's not tweaks. This thing was crap when it was passed and it's not going to get any better.

But Pelosi said Congress had to pass it to see what was in it. They passed it. We see it. It's a colossal f*ckup.

You all get exactly what you deserve for trusting Democrats, "family glitch" and all.
