Is revenge always justified if you are wronged?

People seek revenge for various reasons. Sometimes because they felt slighted or humiliated. Sometimes there is a lack of perceived justice (real or otherwise). Sometimes, because the perp did something that may be legal, but it is just flat out wrong (something like, a CEO - already making millions - fires people struggling to make ends meet, just so they can have an increase in their personal profits). Many reasons with most being unjustified (legally and morally), but some can give us a good debate here.

Revenge by a person is NEVER justified. "Revenge is MINE says the Lord".

Nope, that would be stupid. We gave up on personal vengeance when we agreed to form civilized societies with judges, juries etc. - it's part of the social contract. And while it isn't perfect, it's way better than the way it used to be. We're not that many generations away from the situation where the retribution from armed relatives/kinsmen/clan members was the deterrent against crime. Which of course meant that killing a bum or raping a destitute woman was quite safe.
