18-year-old woman killed in Friday night shooting, Longmont police say
Shooter cooperating with police; no danger to the community
No danger to the community?
Police were called to Longmont United Hospital at 8:02 p.m. Friday on a report of an 18-year-old woman who had been shot, Satur said. Two minutes later, officers were called to 2531 Cambridge Drive on an "unknown problem" at the house. Officers quickly learned that the two calls were related.
The woman died shortly after 9 p.m. at the hospital, Satur said.
"We're the ones who called the police," said a neighbor,
She said her husband was outside and "heard yelling and screaming" from the hosue at 2531 Cambridge Drive. Her husband then saw three or four individuals come out of the house and get into a vehicle and speeding away, leaving the front door of the house open.
The neighbor woman said her husband walked over there and saw blood and an abandoned mobile phone on the stairway. He came and got her, she looked at the scene inside from outside the door, and they then called 911.
"We didn't hear any shots," the neighbor woman said.
Satur said four people -- the victim, shooter, and two witnesses, reportedly ages 12 and 15 -- were in the home at the time of the shooting. The 21-year-old, the man later identified by police as Galley, and the two juvenile witnesses were working with officers.
Later Saturday morning, Satur announced that the man, identified as Nerrek Galley of Orem, Utah, had been arrested about 2:11 a.m. "for actions unrelated to the shooting."
Galley is suspected of child abuse, reckless endangerment and permitting a juvenile to have a firearm, according to an arrest report Satur provided to the media late Saturday morning.
No, maniacs kill people, using whatever tool comes to hand. Yes, IMO anybody who kills another human being is just simply CRAZY!
That tool could be a knife, a pool cue, a fireplace poker, a piece of pipe, a baseball bat, a machete, a sword, or, yes, a gun.
VERY seldom is it an "assault weapon" (whatever that is).
Yet, to hear the ANTI-gun nuts tell it, the Barrett Big 50 must be outlawed, even though it has NEVER been used to commit a crime!
Some anti-gun nuts even want to outlaw any rifle that uses a detachable box magazine (which many of them continue to erroneously call a "clip"), even though they are very rarely used in crimes.
Yes, too many NUTS and not enough squirrels!
I'm confusef u mean if NYC cops stop and frisk a hood rat and take his 9mm
He is no longer a threat?
38% of homicides don't involve guns
U mean its not the shooter a victim of a stereotyping judgemental society I ts the evil white man bullets that r to blame?
Kids don't kill gun companies kill
U should work for Obama prince of peace he needs the help
I'm conservative and have owned guns in the past, but not now. I believe it's ok to own guns, but would someone please explain why in the world you need an assault rifle that holds 30 rounds. It's just not necessary.
And please don't tell me you need it in case Obama tries to invade your home with the US military. Even if that happened you wouldn't stand a chance. They would squash you like a bug.
I don't understand the logic of the posts
How can a gun kill without a shooter?
Can we send my fist to prison for punching u in the face and let me stay home?
