I can't deny this doesn't look great for the WH. There's still no clear evidence of exactly how much Obama knew himself, though. It obviously got filtered through advisors and the WHCoS, so how much got through the "bubble" to the President isn't ever going to be clear unless somebody says, "This is exactly what we told him about the report." And even then, I wouldn't exactly trust that.

But we do remember that this is a website, right? Even if he knew everything, it's not like lives were at stake.

I agree that a buggy rollout might have seemed like a better alternative to a delay, and I also suspect that the WH figured a lot of the bugs could be fixed in the remaining weeks before the rollout. I'm sure that if the WH asked CMS if the problems were fixable, their response wasn't, "No, we're incompetent." It was probably more like, "We'll get right on it, rest assured." Everybody is in self-defense mode right now, so I don't find this revelation particularly damning or surprising. Everybody screwed up to some degree.

Bottom line...it's not like Obama would have wanted the rollout of his signature program to be this big of a mess. I don't get the crowd who is trying to make this into some deliberate stupidity on his part, or an indicator of his personal incompetence as President.

Boy oh boy. The shat has really hit the fan for Barack Obama. His Administration has been completely blindsided by the media onslaught that he has been able to avoid through 5 years of his lies and incompetency!

This is the perfect storm! The outcome is absolutely brilliant for Obama! SINGLE-PAYER (government) health care (paid by working taxpayers) will happen almost right away due to the website debacle and millions of insured people being dropped by their insurance companies. As poor people jump on the free Medicaid plans and previously insured people are dropped by their insurance companies because their plans didn't meet the ObamaCare standards...and very few young people sign-up for ObamaCare at inflated premiums - there is only one thing that can be done. The U.S. government will start right away taking care of American's health care insurance. And that is what is called SINGLE-PAYER, which is exactly what Obama wants! The perfect storm...and no one 'gets it' yet! This is a big F***ing deal!

So either Obama was lying that he had no clue this was coming OR Obama's handlers don't bother to fill him in on decisions anymore.

Why would anyone vote for this stooge?

No....here's how it will play out:The insurers will bleed cash to the point of insolvency in a year or two. Then O will bail them out and turn them into zombie claims processing and retail arms of government approved policies - funded at least partially with printed money.

Nope, I think the website mess has put a stake through the heart of single payer, at least for a few years. Obamacare was supposed to roll in fairly smoothly, and then each year the premiums would inevitably rise until it fell into a death spiral and people begged the government to save them.Instead the website is a complete failure, people are begging for their old private health care plans back, and even some liberals are saying this is turning people off big government.

Yeah, I'm leaning your way on this idea.

Forbes states - "More suspicious voices on the right warned that the Left would use a collapsing Obama Care as an excuse for a single payer medical care system." And of course the idiots on the left are blaming the GOP for the debacle - Obamacare A Mess? Liberals Say Go Single Payer. - Forbes

The LATimes is calling for single-payer Throw out Obamacare? Yes, and give us a single-payer system. - latimes.com

So you know we'll hear more of this. In March of 2012 New York Magazine provided a blueprint for how to do this before the original Supreme Court vote upholding Obamacare - "The hurdles to passing Obamacare were that Democrats needed to have a majority in the House, the presidency, and 60 senators. The good news to passing single payer is that they probably would only need 50 senators. (Single-payer could be done simply by expanding Medicare, a pure fiscal change that could be accomplished through a budget bill that can pass the Senate with a majority vote.)"

No, but when you combine things like Fast and Furious, the IRS mess, Benghazi, the pissed off world over the administrations spying and this mess it sort of hints at an incompetence.
