The restaurant could easily pull the credit reports for the night. The receipt is clearly time stamped.
I'm not claiming either is right or wrong. Just saying that either COULD be faking the receipt.
And I said the restaurant could end this once and for all by producing their computer data.
But they aren't and backed off when NBC asked them to show the receipt they said they had.
Now it's "No comment" and an internal investigation is going on at that restaurant.

I have a huge suspicion that the waitress or the restaurant are actually the perpetrators. I really hope it is wrong since it will mar the LGBTQ community.

Wouldn't it speak volumes of the restuarant and person more?

Maybe they need to check with lawyers to see if releasing the info is legal?
I don't know. I am just saying that there is motive on either side. Unfortunately the restaurant is the one that is going to get screwed either way, as they are the ones being sued.

It's been all over Facebook and plastered on major MSM sites.
We're beyond legal now.
The restaurant first defended her and said those people would not be welcomed back and had the original receipt without the tip.
And nationally you might say it's no big deal but the local community know who, what, when and where.

That is correct also.
At this point of time, I am just going to wait for further development.
In another forum, a guy was actually diligent enough to follow up with the reporter who wrote this story. The reporter confirmed that she actually never verify the credit card statement given by the couple. The report only took the face value - yellow journalism at its best.
The reporter also mentioned that they never got the answer back from the restaurant before they have to print the article.
I will wait for further development....
I think the best outcome will be the restaurant who is behind all these, not the waitress - not the family.
