Government mandated social justice through forced redistribution is not charity.

Charity is freely given, not taken.

Since our government is of the people, by the people and for the people, it is society's decision to freely give to those less advantaged. Our society, as determined by the majority of the people, have chosen to use the government to set up social programs to benefit the poor, the sick, the handicapped. We have freely chosen to do so. There will, of course, be people in our society who don't want these programs to exist. But they are in the minority. In a system of government which allows the majority to direct policies.
