I missed this news when it happened, but saw it in an article by Joe Waldron, former US Marine Col. and now gun rights activist.
Ron Noble was a top BATF official in the Clinton admin. You would expect him to be reliably anti-gun. He now heads Interpol in Lyon, France, an international org with 100+member nations including the U.S.
In late October, after the terrorist attack in Kenya that killed 39, Noble addressed Intepol
