The max that kid could have got in TX was 2 years in Juvenile and 10 years probation.
That's not enough but he didn't even get that.
Race has nothing to do with it but money does. A rich black kid would have gotten of easy also.

Not exactly. He could have been kept in a juvenile facility until age 19 and then transferred to adult prison or adult parole for up to 20 total years.
He also could have been transferred to adult court.
However, as I pointed out in the other thread, it's not like judge hasn't previously been lenient with minority kids.

What I understand is the TX courts would never do this to any kid except for the absolute worst of crimes.
