A judge sentenced a 16-year-old boy who killed four people while driving drunk to 10 years' probation in lieu of jail time, saying the boy suffered from "affluenza" because he grew up so wealthy, according to WFAA.com.
Ethan Crouch and his friends had just stolen beer from a Walmart in Burleson, Texas and were on their way to get more when the crash happened. Crouch's blood alcohol level was at .24 as he drove his white pick up truck at about 70 miles per hour, CBS-DFW reports.
Crouch hit and killed four pedestrians -- a youth pastor, a mother and daughter, and a 24-year-old woman -- and injured nine other people, including two of his friends who were in the truck.

Disgusting, and this judge needes to be kicked the hell out. Judges like him that give judges a bad name.
What the hell is he thinking.
I don't give a damn if he grew up wealthy, what the hell does this have to do with murder.
Seems to me at 16 your ought to know right from wrong, he stole beer from a walmart, going to get more, when this crash happened. Seemed to me rich or poor, this idiot knew what he was doing. His status has not one damn thing to do with him drinving drunk, stealing beer, and killing 4 innocent people. While injduring 9 others, what part of this entitles this manaic to 10 years probation.
So having a rich status entitles you to probation instead of jail time. Nice to know, the name of this judge needs to be planted all over the news.
I am not only in shock, but where the hell do they get the judges we have today.
I agree with this judge. This kid will most likely be a "job creator" when he gets older, so we can't mistreat him! I bet the judge and his father are golfing buddies or something
LOL reading the article the defense said growing up rich made him think he could get away with anything....so he stole beer, and while driving drunk hit and killed 4 people....sooo the judge gives him probation, proving that he can in fact....get away with anything.
So does this mean the inverse is true? If a poor kid commits this same crime, he is punished extra severely because he was raised to know that the poor take it in the shorts? This judgment was absurd.
Most people I've spoken to here in DFW about this are livid...outraged. Myself included.
