I don't give a damn if he grew up wealthy, what the hell does this have to do with murder.

Seems to me at 16 your ought to know right from wrong, he stole beer from a walmart, going to get more, when this crash happened. Seemed to me rich or poor, this idiot knew what he was doing. His status has not one damn thing to do with him drinving drunk, stealing beer, and killing 4 innocent people. While injduring 9 others, what part of this entitles this manaic to 10 years probation.
So having a rich status entitles you to probation instead of jail time. Nice to know, the name of this judge needs to be planted all over the news.

I am not only in shock, but where the hell do they get the judges we have today.

Money talks. Bull**** walks! It isn't right, and that is a fundamental flaw in our justice system, where some people are able to "buy" their way out of trouble.

At any rate... shame on that judge!

You forgot to add the 7-9 people who were injured and from what I heard one is paralyzed...but I guess that is not a "biggie" in the eyes of the judge.

I would like a background check on this judge to see if she is related or one of her family member is related or working for the father of the boy!

Most people would not mind going there...it is like a paid vacation that none of us can afford.

Did you hear the lawyer for the boy...wow he must get paid a lot to talk like he did.

This is even worse than the judge that let the rapist go out after a few days and that was already very bad!

Being rich and white can take you a long way in this country. I feel sorry for the families affected by this little thug. I'm sure he'll mess up again and end up in jail eventually.

Out of curiosity I googled "vehicular homicide probation" and found quite a few people that got probation.

I'm sure that the lack of prior offenses as well as his age were major major factors in the judges decision.

Several of the cases I saw involved 3 year (or less) probation where this kid got 10.

Granted, this kid killed 4 people not just 1 so IMO that would warrant more severity.

P.S. All kinds of people go to low risk work camps at that age. I'm not sure what the societal benefit is to throwing a 16 yo kid into the state penn is going to produce.

People here in Fort Worth are outraged. But, it has been done before, and shall be again. I was once in a courtroom and watched a judge sentence a man convicted of murder (actual murder; he went to the victims house and killed him) to 10 years probation. Why? The murderer came from a wealthy family, and the DA recommended the probation. The judge shook his head and said "I feel odd about this", but then went ahead and signed the paperwork.

Anyway, I assume the judge in the instant case will get campaign contributions from this wealthy family. Oh, since people herein like to 'label' people, she is Republican.
